CLUB CALENDAR |
Each month the club sponsors several events including workshops, informal gatherings, seminars, monthly membership meeting, and the officers meeting. The upcoming schedule of club events is listed below, along with the meeting place and the member hosting the event.
Monthly Club Meeting |
| The club
meets as a group on the third Wednesday of every month, at 7:00 pm at the Backs Community
Building, 201 N. Bradford, Placentia, CA . All members and visitors are always welcome.
Plenty of free parking is available. The focus of this meeting is to share "works in progress" -- that is, models under construction. Following a discussion of the model, the builder and other members often exchange questions and suggestions. Also presented are completed models, tools, plans, books, nautical artifacts and other nautical and ship modeling items and information. In addition, there are
announcements of club news and activities, and usually a raffle. There is
an annual auction of members' kits, tools, supplies, books, and the
like, usually at the October meeting. |
Officer's Meeting |
| Club
officers, both elected and voluntary, meet monthly to discuss club
activities, direction, and business. Any interested member is welcome to
attend. The meeting is the first Monday of every month, at 7:00 pm at the
home of a member. Check the club newsletter or call an officer for the
location. |
Mayflower Meeting |
| The
monthly Mayflower meetings are back! Bill Wicks announced commencement
of a new series of Mayflower group clinics at John Bakker’s house (see
address below). The clinics will be held monthly from 1 to 3 pm on the
Sunday after our regular 3rd Wednesday meetings. Attendees are urged to
bring their current projects for discussion. Those who come just because
they want to hear Bill talk about ship modeling will be flogged.
Refreshments will be served 305 Kendor Drive. Anaheim, CA 92801 Meetings will start at 1 pm and finish at 3 pm the Sunday following the regular SMA Wednesday meeting. Bring your models for discussion! |
